The Assembly Line is led by Diane Cunningham alongside a team of regeneration, business and marketing professionals that come together as projects demand.
We launch and improve street markets, create opportunities for businesses to thrive and build communication programmes to reach a wide audience. We love working in partnership with others. In London that includes East End Trades Guild, a network of independent businesses; Economy of Hours, a timesharing and business start-up CIC and Hackney Tours, a tour company offering experience walks.
Our clients include public and private sector organisations, local authorities and community groups who we work with for days, weeks, months or longer, covering specific projects or gaps in teams.

Diane is a senior, experienced project manager. With a strong marketing background, she is skilled at working with multiple stakeholders from board level to volunteers. Her experience includes setting up street markets and events and developing and managing marketing and communications projects.
Diane is one of the founders, market manager and a former director of the award-winning Chatsworth Road market in Hackney, east London. She spent almost seven years working with businesses, market traders and residents to develop the market alongside creating and delivering a diverse marketing programme to increase footfall via local and national campaigns including a street-wide Christmas shopping campaign and Love Your Local Market fortnight; encouraged ‘shop local’ and ran a marketing programme for an annual festival (Chatsfest). She also sat on the Street Markets Advisory Board, a cabinet level group at London Borough of Hackney and is a member of the first London Markets Board established to protect and grow London’s markets.
Away from Chatsworth Road, Diane has worked on projects with several local authorities and industry associations on street markets and events, start-up support and has 20 years’ experience in communications and marketing both in the public sector and with FTSE 100 companies.
Diane holds a degree in Business Studies (with marketing) and Diplomas from The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) and The Market Research Society.
